Learning Should be an Adventure
The curriculum for the preschool program focuses on developing an understanding of Jewish religious practices, culture and values for young children, and helping children master kindergarten readiness skills. Teachers use a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to help children learn. This method, which encourages young children and their teachers to explore, question and discover in a stimulating environment, is a highly regarded approach to learning for the preschool years. As early childhood educators we know children learn best through active, engaged, meaningful play. We firmly believe that play is the children’s work. Through this process, children develop confidence and independence with encouragement from our teachers, their parents and the community around us. Our program reflects these needs while fostering independence, empathy, cooperation and creativity. In-depth exploration of a topic, which is directed by the children’s interest, excitement and curiosity, allow the curriculum to be presented in a developmentally appropriate manner.
